What is central ward?

Central Ward is one of the wards in the city of Newark, New Jersey. It is located in the central part of the city and is bounded by Springfield Avenue to the north, South Orange Avenue to the south, University Avenue to the east, and the Passaic River to the west. The ward is home to several major landmarks, including the Newark Museum, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and the Prudential Center, which is the home of the NHL's New Jersey Devils.

Central Ward is considered to be the cultural hub of Newark. It has a diverse population that includes African Americans, Hispanics, and immigrants from Asia and the Caribbean. The ward is also home to several universities and colleges, including Rutgers University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Despite its many attractions, the Central Ward has also faced many challenges over the years, including poverty, crime, and a struggling economy. However, in recent years, the ward has experienced a resurgence due to increased investment and development, particularly in the downtown area. Today, the ward is undergoing a revitalization, as more people and businesses move into the area and work to make it a better place to live, work, and play.
